🔎 2023 is the year of #IBC
In 2023, the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol will expand to new blockchains, including Ethereum. Datachain, an Interchain Foundation granted team, is working on IBC-Solidity to connect Ethereum to Cosmos. IBC-Solidity enables the transfer of messages, tokens, and data across various blockchains such as Ethereum, EVM-compatible blockchains, and Enterprise Ethereum. It can also connect chains like BSC, Polygon, and Avalanche and be used in cross-chain bridges. Datachain plans to collaborate with international partners to launch services using IBC-Solidity, bringing IBC to the enterprise world and working with Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Bank and Soramitsu. IBC is becoming a true standard of blockchain interoperability.
🔎 $NTRN Tokenomics Released
Neutron's genesis file contains 1 billion NTRN tokens, distributed across founders, early backers, the community, and Neutron DAO. The NTRN Airdrop allocates 70 million tokens to ATOM stakers to express gratitude for the Cosmos Hub community's support. The launch event consists of three stages, including airdrop distribution, bootstrapping liquidity pools, and a lockdrop. Transaction fees on the platform are denominated in NTRN or ATOM. Neutron DAO manages NTRN reserves and tokens through three core smart contracts: Reserve, Treasury, and Distribution. The Neutron DAO is responsible for allocating tokens and funding development projects, such as the Neutron Foundation and Grants subDAO.
🔎 The Interchain Developers Academy is back
The Interchain Foundation is funding its fourth cohort of the Interchain Developer Academy, a seven-week online training program for experienced web2 and web3 developers interested in blockchain technology. The academy, which has trained 550 developers so far, offers 70 hours of content on the Interchain Stack and Ecosystem, practical coding aspects, and various blockchain principles. Cohort four will admit 300 developers, and participants who pass the final exam receive official certification from the Interchain Foundation. Applications are open, with a screening test deadline on May 8th and the program running from May 18th to August 4th.
🔎 What’s coming next for #IBC
The Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol is expanding its reach to various blockchain ecosystems, including Polkadot, Near, Avalanche, and Bitcoin. Projects like Centauri bridge, CosmosAVAX, Babylon Chain, and Nomic are working on integrating IBC, enabling cross-chain communication and increased security. Rollups, a solution for blockchain scalability, will also leverage IBC for inter-rollup communication. The non-Cosmos SDK chain Penumbra has implemented IBC on testnet using Rust implementation (ibc-rs). Over the last two years, IBC has become a secure and reliable interoperability solution, marking the beginning of the Interoperability Standard Era.
🔎 Migaloo #Decentralization
Migaloo Zone has a total score of 65, with 50 out of 55 active validators spread across 13 countries. The Validator Nakamoto Coefficient is 7, contributing to the chain's high score. However, the Nakamoto coefficient of ISPs and ASNs is 2, with a major stake in OVH and Hetzner. Eight validators with a score of 100 contribute significantly to the chain's success and decentralization.
